What is Duolingo Classroom? Duolingo Classroom is a tech tool designed to help students continue learning a foreign language. It can be used as an in-class exercise, a homework assignment, or as a way to keep language skills sharp over the summer or any other break. With Duolingo Classroom, teachers can place students in their respective classes, choose a curriculum to follow, track the progress of their students, create classroom activities, engage with other educators and much more. Another added benefit of Duolingo Classroom is that it can be downloaded on the app store to a phone or tablet, making it even easier to take it with you and use it on the go!
How does Duolingo Classroom relate to the Danielson Framework and Blooms Taxonomy? For teachers, Duolingo Classroom can be useful in creating assessments, component 1F of the Danielson Framework. It can also be a great way to engage students in the learning, component 3C. In addition, Duolingo Classroom can help create an environment where the students are excited to learn and enjoy working with one another, which closely relates to 2A and 2B of the Danielson Framework. In regards to Blooms Taxonomy, Duolingo Classroom is the most beneficial for the lowest level, the knowledge or remember stage, which is very critical in language learning.
